Digital Experience Director and Co-Founder

Sandra Higashi is the Co-Founder and Digital Experience Director of Hypatia. She is responsible for Hypatia’s front end design and visual engagement across platforms, web interfaces and mobile applications. Sandra has been designing award-winning products for over 30 years across a wide range of media, with a special ability to promote product adoption and customer experience with clean and compelling end-user applications. As an internationally-recognized design leader, she has a wide base of technical knowledge to guide teams through an array of complicated design problems. Sandra specializes in web design, mobile apps, dashboard design, kinetic imaging and animation, digital publication design, digital environment design, film, science education and medtech products.

In the government and NGO sector, Sandra has led creative campaigns, digital platforms and public engagement experiences for mission-driven initiatives in global health, diversity and equality, mental health, cloud cybersecurity, science education, clinical trials, and medical technologies that fuse medical devices and IoT.

Legacy of Innovative Design

She is a distinguished Honors graduate from the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Sandra began her career with graphic design legend Saul Bass in Los Angeles, became the Senior Designer for the Walker Group in NYC, and then formed Higashi Glaser Design Studio in the Soho district of NYC. Her awards and exhibitions include:
